On May 3-6, 2019, Chris Moser, Mark Williams and Christina M were invited back to Cross Fork, Potter County, PA to participate in Project Healing Waters 4th Annual Kettle Creek weekend retreat for disabled Veterans in participation with the Kettle Creek Watershed Association.
The rain took a pause on Saturday, and we had picture perfect weather for a change. Like always the area reserved for the veterans was heavily stocked with fantastic brook, brown and rainbow trout, with a few as large as 22".
In famous Cross Fork welcoming spirit, the entire town came out to celebrate the event, and prepared the firehall in fine fashion.
The school children from Renovo prepared hand-drawn placemats for all of the veterans, their inspiring artwork and words brought tears to many.
We enjoyed terrific food donated from local companies and residents, and had a wonderful time at the fundraising banquet on Saturday evening.
Christina and Chris both participated as fly fishing mentors for veterans, and Mark was invaluable sideline coaching. Chris spent Friday afternoon teaching a fly fishing refresher course and helped everyone perfect their cast.
