On May 4 & 5th, 2018, Chris Moser, Mark Williams and Christina M were invited back to Cross Fork, Potter County, PA to participate in Project Healing Waters 3rd Annual Kettle Creek weekend retreat for disabled Veterans.
Unlike 2017, we had picture perfect weather, and, like always the area reserved for the veterans was heavily stocked with fantastic brook, brown and rainbow trout, with a few as large as 22".
In typical Cross Fork fashion, the entire town came out to celebrate the event, and prepared the firehall in fine fashion. We enjoyed terrific food donated from local companies and residents, and had a wonderful time at the fundraising banquet on Saturday evening.
Christina and Chris both participated as fly fishing guides for veterans, and Mark was invaluable behind the scenes support arranging the BBQ.
The photo is Grace, the woman Christina guided and her biggest fish of the day. Her first time fly fishing for trout. Needless to say, she's hooked.
Chris, Mark and Christina returned to fish Kettle Creek a few weeks later for some vacation time. Christina managed to talk Mark into "one more cast" about two dozen times... and it paid off
